OPPORTUNITY OR PROBLEM
A major oil exploration and drilling company realized that improvements to their automatic well test processes were required to increase test accuracy and productivity.
APPROACH TAKEN
A Lean Six Sigma improvement team was formed to analyze the process and recommend appropriate changes. The team identified potential improvements to improve accuracy. As a result of their efforts:

- – The percent of successful “workovers” was significantly improved
OUTCOME
As a result of the improved testing, the company realized $500,000 in annualized ROI (Return On Investment).
