An in-class simulation exercise that was designed and developed strictly for transactionals. This example of a real-world transactional process provides a common reference for class members. Students determine what data they need to collect and track and what kinds of analyses they
must apply in order to improve the steps involved in the hiring process (some of which are
employment testing, reference checks, and drug testing). The Six Sigma tools and methodology are applied to demonstrate what it takes to make a transactional process “world class.”
