STEPHEN C. HOYLE




   Director of Air Academy University, Steve has over 28 years of teaching, consulting, and technical leadership experience in the areas of Six Sigma and operations research.   Steve has taught hundreds of professionals during on-site classes at Stant/Schrader, GE Lighting, Raytheon, Danaher Corporation, Perkin Elmer, Gates Rubber Company, Solo cup, The Williams Companies, El Paso Natural Gas, the AF Weapons Lab, Andrew Corporation, and Kaiser Aluminum.  Courses taught include Six Sigma Black Belt and Green Belt, Design for Six Sigma, Network Optimization, Design of Experiments, Statistical Process Control, Probability and Statistics, Stochastic Programming, Linear Algebra, Operations Research, and a variety of algebraic
modeling languages. He was the principal investigator for developing the Nuclear Test Personnel Review project for the Defense Nuclear Agency (now known as Defense Special Weapons Agency).

Steve earned BS degrees in computer science and mathematics from the USAF Academy where he was the number one graduate in operations research; an MS degree in Systems Engineering from UCLA, and an MS and PhD in Operations Research from Stanford University. He was a tenure professor at the USAF Academy where he was responsible for implementing a mathematics curriculum for 2200 students.  Prior to joining Air Academy Steve was president of Peak Energy Solutions, Inc., a company providing advanced networking models that dramatically reduce scheduling times and significantly increase throughput and profitability for natural gas transportation companies.

In addition to providing “just-in-time” courses such as Reliability and Data Mining, Steve has been the thrust behind Air Academy’s new Knowledge Assessment on-line capability.
